六本木ヒルズのパブリックエリアに常設展示している巨大な蜘蛛(ママン)でも知られる、20世紀を代表する最も重要なアーティストの一人、ルイーズ・ブルジョワ。
 
日本では27年ぶりとなる国内最大規模の個展が9/25(木)より森美術館にて開催されます。

これにあわせSOPH.ではブルゾン、スウェット、シャツ、Tシャツからなるカプセルコレクションを制作。

ママンを熟練の職人による刺繍で表現したり、本展の副題にも引用された言葉を単なるプリントではなく一度生地を作ってからのパッチワークにしたりと、それぞれの作品の良さが最大限伝わるよう異なる手法でプロダクトに落とし込んでいます。
 
これまでもSOPH.では国内外のさまざま現代美術家とのコラボレーションをおこなってきました。
 
今回の取り組みは"服を通じてアートに興味を持ってもらう"という、SOPH.が黎明期から掲げている哲学の一つを体現した特別なプロジェクトです。ブルジョワの個展と共にぜひお楽しみください。
 
9/25(水)より森美術館内 展覧会特設ショップ、同日正午よりSOPH. ONLINE STOREにて発売します。

Louise Bourgeois, one of the most important artists of the 20th century, is also known for her giant spider (maman), which is on permanent display in the public area of Roppongi Hills.

The largest solo exhibition of Louise Bourgeois' work in Japan in 27 years will be held at the Mori Art Museum from 9/25(Thu).

In conjunction with this exhibition, SOPH. will produce a capsule collection consisting of blousons, sweatshirts, shirts, and T-shirts.

Different techniques are incorporated into the products, such as embroidery of maman and patchwork of words quoted in the subtitle of this exhibition.

SOPH. has collaborated with various contemporary artists.

This project expresses SOPH.'s philosophy of encouraging interest in art through clothing. We hope you will enjoy this project along with Bourgeois' solo exhibition.
