今シーズンは、ブランドのバックボーンのひとつにある"ワーク"を軸にしたデイリーウエアと、後のカルチャーに多大なる影響を与えた稀代のデンマーク人アーティスト、"アスガー・ヨルン"にフォーカスしたカプセルコレクションを展開します。

"アスガー・ヨルン"とは、1940年代の前衛美術運動「CoBrA」や、そこから派生した1957年の社会革命的国際組織「Situationist International」の創設にも深く携わった稀代のデンマーク人アーティスト。かつてアート財団からの賞金授与も拒むなどその反体制的なスタンスから作品の数々が後に世界を席巻するパンクムーブメントに多大な影響を与えました。

1935年に大学を卒業後、母国デンマークのコペンハーゲン王立美術アカデミーで学び、画家としてのキャリアをスタート、その後1954年にフランス人アーティストのギー・デュボールと出会うことで、その才能が一気に開花します。

ランダムに切り抜いた雑誌や新聞で作ったコラージュ作品の上にインクをぶちまけて作った"Fin de Copenhague"（1957）や"MEMOIRES"（1959）を共作することで、1950〜60年代にヨーロッパ中で巻き起こった反体制運動の一躍中心に。

既存のアイテムをサンプリング&カットアップし、新たな価値観を生み出す斬新な手法は、後にパンクを始め様々なムーブメントを巻き起こしたセックスピストルズのプロデューサーであるマルコム・マクラーレンをはじめ、その隆盛をリアルタイムで目撃したuniform experimentのディレクターであり、fragment designを主宰する藤原ヒロシ氏など、音楽、ファッション、アートの垣根を超えて大きな影響を与えてきました。

今回のコレクションでは、そんな当時の貴重なアートワークをフックアップ。左脇下を大胆に切り替えたアルファ社とのコラボレーションによるMA-1をはじめ、現代的なビッグサイズでアレンジされたロング&ショートスリーブシャツ、柔らかな着心地を楽しめるスウェット&Tシャツ、さらには上質な素材感が際立つニットまで、バラエティに富んだ全15アイテムがラインナップします。(ショートスリーブシャツおよびTシャツは4月にデリバリー予定。)

1950年代のパリで生まれた活動が70年代のロンドンに渡り、現代の東京で帰結する。

uniform experiment 2021 Spring/Summer collection will start on 1/29(Fri).

This season, we are developing a capsule collection focusing on daily wear with the theme of "work", and Danish artist "Asger Jorn", who greatly influenced subsequent culture.

A Danish artist "Asger Jorn" who was deeply involved in the avant-garde art movement in the 1940s "CoBrA" and the establishment of the international organization for social revolution "Situationist International" in 1957, which was derived from the movement, is said to be a great star known by those who know from the viewpoint that his works had a great influence on the music movement which later swept the world, though his name recognition is low due to his dissident stance such as refusing to receive prize money from the art foundation.

After graduating from university in 1935, he studied at the Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen Denmark and started his career as a painter. The turning point was in 1954, he met a French artist, Guy Debord.

While belonging to the International Organization for the Social Revolution "Situationist International" (International Contextual Federation (SI)), which was formed by artists and intellectuals in Paris, they were the driving force behind the anti-establishment movement that called "SI boom", which arose all over Europe in the 1950's and 60's with exciting works. Among many young peoples resonated the book in 1957 and in 1959 written by Jorn and Debord.

The method of sampling and cutting up existing items has had a great influence beyond the boundaries of music, fashion and art, such as Malcolm McLaren, who later created various movements including punk, and Hiroshi Fujiwara of fragment design.

This collection uses Jorn's artworks. MA-1 jacket, which is a collaboration with Alpha with bold contrasting fabrics under the left side, oversized long & short sleeve shirt, comfortable sweat & T-shirt, and high quality knit, a total of 15 items are lined up.(Short sleeve shirts and T-shirts will be delivered in April.)

The culture that started in Paris in the 1950s moved to London in the 1970s, and ended in Tokyo now.

Also, we open a talk about the attractiveness of Jorn's work to Hiroshi Fujiwara who had a special affection for Asger Jorn for a long time and led to the collaboration with UE this time, and Skatething who is a C.E. designer also influenced by Asger Jorn's work.
